Ref. 220.10.40.20.03.001
Status: Available
Condition: Excellent Pre-Owned
Scope: Box, Papers, and Cards
Case Notes
The Railmaster has always been one of Omega’s quieter professional watches.
Originally conceived as a highly anti-magnetic tool watch, the modern Railmaster keeps that functional identity but packages it in a far more restrained form than the brand’s dive and chronograph lines.
This blue-dial configuration gives the formula considerably more personality.
The vertically brushed “denim” dial shifts from deep navy to brighter washed blue depending on the light, while the warm central seconds hand and Railmaster text add just enough contrast to keep the dial from becoming monochromatic.
At 40 mm, the proportions are exceptionally versatile. The brushed steel case and bracelet reinforce the tool-watch character, while the absence of a date keeps the dial balanced and uncluttered.
Inside is Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, offering approximately 55 hours of power reserve and resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.
This example dates from 2024 and presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition. It includes its Box, Papers, and Cards and is currently sized for approximately a 7¾-inch wrist.
Because it dates from 2024, it remains within Omega’s five-year international factory warranty period, subject to the exact warranty-card date and Omega terms.

Collector Provenance
The Railmaster traces its roots to Omega’s professional-watch era of the 1950s.
It was created alongside watches such as the Speedmaster and Seamaster 300, but with a different mission: resistance to magnetic fields for engineers, technicians, and others working around electrical equipment.
The modern Railmaster preserves that identity in a far more advanced form.
Rather than relying on a soft-iron inner cage alone, the Calibre 8806 itself is constructed to resist magnetic fields exceeding 15,000 gauss.
That makes the anti-magnetic capability far more practical in daily life, where laptops, speakers, magnetic closures, and electronic equipment are considerably more common than they were when the original Railmaster appeared.
This blue “Denim” version is now discontinued, which gives it a different profile from Omega’s current Railmaster offerings.
Design Provenance
The dial is what makes this reference memorable.
Omega gave it a vertically brushed surface intended to evoke denim, with subtle tonal variation across the blue and restrained orange accents.
The finish changes significantly with lighting, moving from darker navy indoors to a much more vivid blue in direct light.
The brushed steel case and bracelet keep the watch grounded in tool-watch territory, while the lack of a date window preserves the clean symmetry.
At 40 mm, it also lands in one of the most wearable sizes Omega has used for a contemporary sports watch.
Technical Provenance
The Calibre 8806 is a Master Chronometer-certified automatic movement.
It uses Omega’s Co-Axial escapement, runs at 25,200 vibrations per hour, and provides approximately 55 hours of power reserve.
METAS certification tests the fully assembled watch for precision, magnetic resistance, power reserve, and water resistance.
The movement’s resistance to magnetic fields of at least 15,000 gauss is particularly appropriate for the Railmaster name and gives the watch genuine technical continuity with its historical purpose.
From the Case File
The Railmaster is an unusually easy Omega to wear.
The 40 mm case is compact enough for daily use, the bracelet is fully integrated into the design, the dial is highly legible, and the 150-meter water-resistance rating provides more than enough capability for normal everyday wear.
There is no date to reset after the watch has stopped, and the 55-hour reserve gives it reasonable flexibility in rotation.
Case 624 presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition, dates from 2024, includes Box, Papers, and Cards, and is sized for approximately a 7¾-inch wrist.
It also retains substantial Omega factory warranty coverage.
BST Verdict
A modern Omega that does not need a rotating bezel, chronograph pushers, or oversized case to make its point.
The blue “Denim” Railmaster combines a distinctive vertically brushed dial with a 40 mm steel case, Master Chronometer Calibre 8806, 15,000-gauss anti-magnetic capability, and 150-meter water resistance.
Case 624 adds a 2024 date, Excellent condition, BPC, and meaningful remaining factory warranty to a discontinued Railmaster configuration that stands apart from the usual Seamaster choices.
Every case deserves a closer look.
