At 40 mm, it is smaller and easier to wear than many modern Speedmasters, while the deep blue dial and black rubber strap give this version a sportier personality than the bracelet-equipped models.

The dial is the defining feature. Blue dominates the layout, while the recessed chronograph registers carry the textured racing-inspired pattern that gives the model its name. The steel tachymeter bezel keeps the watch visually connected to the wider Speedmaster family, while the date window adds day-to-day practicality.

Collector Provenance

The Speedmaster Racing occupies a distinct place within Omega’s chronograph lineup.

It is not a Moonwatch derivative in the strict sense, nor is it built around the same proportions. Instead, Omega gave the Racing family its own 40 mm case, automatic movement, date complication, and more contemporary dial architecture.

The blue configuration gives the watch an especially distinctive look.

Compared with the black and white versions, the blue dial has more visual depth and shifts noticeably with lighting, while the rubber strap keeps the overall character firmly on the casual side.
