Status: Available
Condition: Excellent Pre-Owned
Scope: Box, Papers, and Cards
Case Notes
The Black Bay 58 GMT takes Tudor’s travel-watch formula and finally puts it into the proportions collectors had been asking for.
At 39 mm wide and only 12.8 mm thick, it is dramatically more compact than the original Black Bay GMT, but it loses none of the functionality. The defining feature is the bidirectional 24-hour bezel with its black and burgundy aluminum insert, quickly earning the watch its enthusiast nickname: “Coke.”
Against the domed black dial, Tudor uses gilt-tone applied markers and hands to give the watch the warmer character associated with the Black Bay family. The red GMT hand ties directly into the burgundy half of the bezel and allows a second time zone to be read at a glance.
Inside is Tudor’s Manufacture Calibre MT5450-U, an integrated GMT movement certified both by COSC and METAS as a Master Chronometer. It offers a 65-hour power reserve, silicon hairspring, resistance to magnetic fields, and a jumping local-hour hand that makes changing time zones exceptionally straightforward.
This example dates from 2024 and presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition. It includes its Box, Papers, and Cards and is currently sized for approximately a 7¾-inch wrist.
As a 2024 example, it retains substantial coverage under Tudor’s five-year transferable guarantee, subject to the exact warranty-card date and Tudor’s terms.

Collector Provenance
The significance of the Black Bay 58 GMT is largely about proportion.
Tudor had offered a Black Bay GMT since 2018, but that watch carried the size and thickness of the full-size Black Bay platform. The 58 GMT brought the complication into the smaller 39 mm architecture that had made the Black Bay Fifty-Eight so successful.
It was not simply a downsized case.
Tudor developed the MT5450-U specifically around the compact format, producing an integrated GMT movement only 6.14 mm thick while retaining a true jumping local-hour function.
The black-and-burgundy bezel immediately gave the watch an identity of its own. Collectors quickly adopted the familiar “Coke” nickname, although Tudor itself describes the colors simply as black and burgundy.
Design Provenance
This is a travel watch that still looks unmistakably like a Black Bay.
The domed black dial, gilt-tone details, Snowflake hour hand, rivet-style bracelet, and aluminum bezel all lean into Tudor’s vintage-inspired design vocabulary.
The GMT architecture adds color without overwhelming it.
The bezel divides day and night between black and burgundy, while the red 24-hour hand introduces a third layer of information without making the dial feel crowded.
At 39 mm and 12.8 mm thick, the watch also avoids the visual and physical bulk associated with many mechanical GMTs.
Technical Provenance
The MT5450-U is one of the most technically advanced movements currently used in the Black Bay family.
It is independently certified by both COSC and METAS, with Tudor’s Master Chronometer specification covering precision, power reserve, water resistance, and resistance to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss.
The local hour hand can be advanced or reversed independently in one-hour increments, with the date synchronized to that adjustment.
That is the practical definition of a true travel GMT: when arriving in a new time zone, local time can be changed without stopping the movement or disturbing the minutes, seconds, or home-time indication.
The movement provides approximately 65 hours of power reserve and uses a silicon balance spring.
From the Case File
The Black Bay 58 GMT solves the biggest objection many buyers had to Tudor’s earlier GMT: size.
It delivers a true jumping-hour GMT, date, rotating 24-hour bezel, 200-meter water resistance, and Master Chronometer certification in a case that wears much closer to the familiar Black Bay 58.
Case 712 dates from the model’s launch year of 2024 and presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition.
It includes its Box, Papers, and Cards and is currently sized for approximately a 7¾-inch wrist.

BST Verdict
The GMT many Tudor collectors were waiting for.
A 39 mm case, black-and-burgundy “Coke” bezel, true jumping local-hour GMT, T-fit bracelet, 65-hour reserve, and dual COSC/METAS certification make the Black Bay 58 GMT significantly more than a smaller version of the earlier model.
Case 712 adds a launch-year 2024 date, Excellent condition, complete BPC presentation, and substantial remaining factory warranty to one of Tudor’s strongest recent releases.
Every case deserves a closer look.
