🔎 Case Notes
The blue-bezel Black Bay is one of the cleanest expressions of Tudor’s modern dive-watch language.
Reference M79230B-0002 pairs the familiar 41 mm Black Bay case with a black dial, blue aluminum bezel, snowflake hands, and stainless-steel bracelet. Compared with the burgundy version, the blue bezel gives the watch a cooler, more restrained personality while preserving all of the visual cues that made the Black Bay recognizable.
This example presents in excellent pre-owned condition and is currently sized for approximately a 7½-inch wrist.
It includes its box, hang tag, and booklet. The production date of this individual watch is presently unknown.

🌟 Collector Provenance
The M79230 generation marked an important step in the Black Bay story because it brought Tudor’s in-house MT5602 movement into the standard 41 mm steel diver.
That changed the ownership experience significantly. The roughly 70-hour reserve made the watch more practical in rotation, while the COSC-certified movement gave the Black Bay stronger technical credibility without changing the basic vintage-inspired design that had already made the model successful.
The blue-bezel version has always been the quieter sibling to the burgundy Black Bay. That restraint is part of its appeal: black dial, cool blue bezel, steel bracelet, and no unnecessary color elsewhere.
🌟 Design Provenance
The strength of this configuration is balance.
The blue bezel adds enough color to distinguish the watch immediately, but the black dial keeps the overall presentation grounded. The snowflake hands and applied markers remain unmistakably Tudor, while the steel case and bracelet give the watch the robust presence expected from a 41 mm sports diver.
It is a configuration that reads sporty without becoming flashy.
🧾 From the Case File
At 41 mm, the Black Bay has enough wrist presence to feel substantial, but it remains well within traditional sports-watch proportions.
The 70-hour reserve makes it easy to live with, the sapphire crystal adds durability, and 200 meters of water resistance gives it real everyday capability.
This example is particularly appealing because of its excellent condition, steel bracelet, and 7½-inch fit.
The accessories are accurately represented: box, hang tag, and booklet are present, but no warranty card has been supplied.
🗝️ BST Verdict
A very clean example of one of Tudor’s most balanced Black Bay configurations.
The blue bezel gives the watch just enough personality, while the black dial, steel bracelet, and MT5602 movement keep it versatile and mechanically serious.
Excellent condition and a strong overall presentation make Case 628 an easy everyday Tudor to recommend.
