Case #678 — Panerai Luminor Power Reserve Ref. PAM00090
Status: Available
Condition: Excellent Pre-Owned
Scope: Panerai Box and Warranty Card
Case Notes
The PAM00090 is unmistakably Panerai.
A 44 mm polished stainless-steel Luminor case, oversized crown-protecting bridge, black dial, bold luminous numerals, and the substantial wrist presence that defined the brand’s most recognizable era.
What separates the PAM00090 from the simpler Luminor models is the dial.
Small seconds occupy 9 o’clock, the date sits at 3, and a linear power-reserve indicator stretches across the lower portion of the dial. It adds genuine mechanical information without sacrificing the strong, functional layout that makes a Luminor immediately recognizable.
Inside is Panerai’s automatic OP IX calibre, running at 28,800 vibrations per hour and providing approximately 42 hours of power reserve.
This example dates from 2011 and presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition. It includes its Panerai presentation box and warranty card and is fitted to a black rubber strap that will accommodate approximately an 8-inch wrist.

Collector Provenance
The PAM00090 comes from the period when the 44 mm Luminor was the watch most collectors pictured when they heard the name Panerai.
Its visual identity is rooted in the historic Luminor case, but the automatic movement and added complications make it considerably more practical than the brand’s stripped-back manual-wind references.
The power-reserve indicator is particularly characteristic of this model.
Rather than hiding the remaining reserve or requiring the owner to remember when the watch was last wound, the PAM00090 puts that information directly on the dial.
It is functional, slightly unconventional, and very Panerai.
Design Provenance
The case does most of the talking.
At 44 mm, the Luminor has real physical presence, but the cushion-shaped architecture and relatively simple dial prevent the watch from becoming visually chaotic.
Large luminous Arabic numerals at 12 and 6 anchor the dial, while small seconds at 9 balance the date at 3.
The horizontal power-reserve display across the lower dial adds asymmetry and mechanical character without overwhelming the core Luminor design.
Technical Provenance
The PAM00090 uses Panerai’s automatic OP IX calibre.
It operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour with 21 jewels and provides approximately 42 hours of power reserve.
Functions include hours, minutes, small seconds, date, and the signature power-reserve indication.
The surrounding Luminor case is equally capable, with sapphire crystal, Panerai’s locking crown-protection system, and a substantial 300-meter water-resistance rating.
From the Case File
This is a classic-era Panerai with more going on beneath the surface than the familiar case initially suggests.
The power-reserve display gives the watch real mechanical personality, while the automatic movement and date make it easy to use as a daily piece.
Case 678 dates from 2011 and presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition.
It includes its Panerai box and original warranty card and is fitted to a rubber strap that will accommodate approximately an 8-inch wrist.

BST Verdict
A quintessential 44 mm Luminor with one of Panerai’s most useful complications.
The black dial, crown-protecting bridge, automatic OP IX movement, small seconds, date, linear power-reserve display, and 300-meter specification give the PAM00090 considerably more functionality than its straightforward appearance suggests.
Case 678 adds a 2011 date, Excellent condition, original Panerai box, and warranty card to a reference that captures the oversized, mechanically expressive Panerai era particularly well.
Every case deserves a closer look.
