Case #264 โ IWC Aquatimer Automatic Yellow Dial ย Ref. Iw356806
Status: Active Investigation
Condition: Very Good Pre-Owned
Scope: Box, Card, and Papers
Year: 2011
Bright, bold, and far less common than its black-dial siblings, the IWC Aquatimer Yellow Dial is one of those pieces that quietly becomes harder to find the longer you collect watches.
Released during IWCโs modern Aquatimer era, this reference combines the brandโs serious dive credentials with a dial color rarely seen in the lineup. The high-visibility yellow dial was designed with legibility in mind โ a nod to professional diving instruments where contrast and clarity matter most. It also gives the watch a striking presence on the wrist, setting it apart from the more common monochrome Aquatimers.
This example dates to 2011 and is presented in very good pre-owned condition, showing normal signs of careful wear consistent with age. The case and bezel remain strong, and the dial and crystal present very well.
The watch includes its box, card, and papers. The box itself shows honest age, with the inner pillow experiencing some flaking and minor residue visible on the exterior wrapping โ a common issue with IWC boxes from this period. The watch itself, however, remains the star of the case.
Yellow-dial Aquatimers surface far less frequently than their black or blue counterparts, making them an appealing option for collectors looking for something a bit more distinctive within the IWC dive watch lineup.

IWCโs Aquatimer line has long been respected for combining serious dive capability with refined engineering. While black dial variants dominate the secondary market, yellow dial versions were produced in smaller numbers, making them notably harder to source today.
Collectors often seek these brighter dial variants because they capture the tool-watch spirit of professional dive instrumentation while remaining unmistakably IWC.
The Aquatimer line has been worn by professional divers, explorers, and enthusiasts who appreciate its rugged capability and engineering-driven design philosophy.
โRecovered with box, card, and papers. Very good pre-owned condition dating to 2011. Original box shows typical age-related wear, but the watch itself remains strong. Yellow dial variant โ far less common than the standard configurations.โ
Case #264 offers something collectors rarely see: a yellow-dial IWC Aquatimer with full documentation from its original era. Between the bold dial, serious dive pedigree, and relative scarcity, itโs a piece that stands apart from the typical Aquatimer lineup.
