Case Notes

The Aqua Terra is Omega’s answer to the one-watch problem.

It has the polish and symmetry of a dress watch, but underneath sits a genuinely capable sports-watch platform: 150 meters of water resistance, a screw-down crown, a Master Chronometer movement, and enough anti-magnetic resistance to handle modern daily life without special treatment.

This blue-dial configuration is one of the defining versions of the 41 mm Aqua Terra.

The vertically oriented teak-pattern dial shifts from deep navy to brighter blue depending on the light, while the polished and brushed steel case and bracelet keep the watch refined without becoming formal.

Inside is Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8900, a twin-barrel automatic movement with approximately 60 hours of power reserve and an independently adjustable hour hand for easy travel-time changes.

This example dates from 2020 and presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition. It includes its Box, Papers, and Cards and is currently sized for approximately a 7½-inch wrist.

Collector Provenance

The Aqua Terra has occupied a distinctive place in Omega’s modern catalog since its introduction in 2002.

It was never meant to be a pure dive watch or a conventional dress watch. Instead, the line was designed to bridge both worlds, using Seamaster water resistance and durability while keeping the dial and case architecture cleaner and more refined.

The 41 mm generation represented one of the strongest evolutions of that idea.

The date moved to 6 o’clock, the dial became more symmetrical, and the Master Chronometer Calibre 8900 brought the watch firmly into Omega’s modern anti-magnetic movement era.

The blue teak dial remains one of the most recognizable Aqua Terra configurations.

Design Provenance

The dial is the reason this reference works so well.

The blue teak pattern gives the surface texture and depth without making the watch visually busy. Depending on the light, the dial can appear nearly navy or considerably brighter, while the applied markers and polished hands add just enough contrast.

The fixed steel bezel keeps the watch clean and dressier than a conventional diver, while the integrated steel bracelet gives it the presence of a proper modern sports watch.

At 41 mm, the proportions are substantial without feeling oversized.

Technical Provenance

The Calibre 8900 is central to the Aqua Terra’s appeal.

It is a METAS-certified Master Chronometer movement with approximately 60 hours of power reserve, twin barrels, Omega’s Co-Axial escapement, and strong resistance to magnetic fields.

The independently adjustable hour hand is particularly useful for travel, allowing local time to be changed in one-hour increments without disturbing the minutes or seconds.

The 150-meter water-resistance rating and screw-down crown give the watch much more real-world capability than its polished appearance suggests.

From the Case File

The Aqua Terra is one of those watches that earns wrist time because it is easy to wear almost anywhere.

The blue dial works equally well with casual clothing or a jacket, the bracelet keeps it sporty, and the 41 mm case has enough presence without becoming cumbersome.

There is also no need to baby it. The sapphire crystal, screw-down crown, Master Chronometer movement, and 150-meter rating make it genuinely practical.

Case 622 presents in Excellent Pre-Owned condition and includes its Box, Papers, and Cards.

The bracelet is currently sized for approximately a 7½-inch wrist.

BST Verdict

One of Omega’s most versatile modern watches in one of its signature configurations.

The blue teak dial, 41 mm steel case, Master Chronometer Calibre 8900, 60-hour reserve, and 150-meter capability give the Aqua Terra the rare ability to move easily between sports watch and everyday dress watch.

Case 622 adds Excellent condition and a complete BPC presentation to a reference that remains one of the most balanced watches in Omega’s modern catalog.

Every case deserves a closer look.
