The Quaranta takes one of the most recognizable watch cases ever made and makes it considerably easier to live with.

At 40 mm, the PAM01370 retains everything that immediately identifies a Luminor: the cushion-shaped case, oversized crown-protecting bridge, bold Arabic numerals, luminous dial, and unmistakable Panerai proportions.

What changes is the scale.

Compared with the traditional 44 mm Luminor, the Quaranta is more compact, lighter on the wrist, and much easier to wear across a wider range of wrist sizes without losing the presence that makes a Panerai a Panerai.

This reference pairs a brushed stainless-steel case and polished bezel with a rich blue sun-brushed dial, luminous Arabic numerals and markers, small seconds at 9 o’clock, and date at 3.

Collector Provenance

The Quaranta represents a meaningful change in the way Panerai approaches the Luminor.

For decades, much of the brand’s identity was tied to oversized cases. The 44 mm Luminor became almost inseparable from the Panerai look.

The Quaranta preserves that design language at 40 mm.

That makes it less a miniature Panerai than a reconsideration of the proportions: the crown guard remains prominent, the numerals are still bold, and the case retains its unmistakable silhouette, but the watch becomes far more approachable for daily wear.
